Self-Harming Energy Policy

Labour’s “GB Energy plan” reads like it was written on the back of a beer mat by a geography undergraduate who’s never paid a gas bill.
Ban new North Sea licences? Brilliant! Throw thousands of skilled oil and gas workers on the dole, then spaff £40 billion buying the same oil and gas from Norway at a premium. That’s not policy, that’s self-harm.
Coal? Same story. Ship £7.2 million worth of coking coal from Japan because clearly the carbon footprint is so much lower once you’ve hauled it halfway around the planet but God forbid we mine our own.
Farmers? Forget producing food, let’s plaster their fields with solar panels so at least the cows can tan while Britain imports wheat from Kazakhstan.
Then comes the eco-theatre: £50 million on “sun dimming experiments” yes, Labour are literally trying to switch off the sun while pensioners can’t afford to switch on the heating.
£1.8 billion to Drax on top of £11 billion already pocketed, so they can torch wood pellets equivalent to 300 million trees and call it “green”.
And the cherry on top: £500 million this year alone to pay wind companies not to generate power. Imagine being subsidised for doing nothing Reeves must be taking notes for her next fiscal plan.
Finally, £30 billion of taxpayer money poured into carbon capture machines that don’t work anywhere in the world, while at the same time they bleat about a notional £22 billion “black hole” to justify squeezing pensioners, farmers, and the disabled.
This isn’t an energy strategy it’s economic sadism with a Greta Thunberg screensaver.
Britain doesn’t need “GB Energy”. It needs GB Sanity, before Labour bankrupts the country in the name of eco-theatrics that achieve nothing but higher bills and lower living standards.
