The Future Cities Project, its sponsors and/or partners (known as “the organisers”) are not responsible for illegible, lost, delayed or misdirected mail (postal or electronic), errors in faxes or shipments, busy phone signals, or incomplete entries. Similarly, the organisers are not responsible for distorted, slow-running or missing footage on the website or for buffering problems, mislabelling, sub-editing errors or similar problems that make the entries difficult to judge or display. It is the personal responsibilty of entrants to make copies of their entries should such a misfortune befall their submissions.
Entrants and attendees are deemed to have agreed a Release and Indemnification Form that releases, indemnifies and holds harmless the organisers, its representatives, affiliated companies and its respective officers, directors, employees, sponsors and partners, from and against any and all harm, expense, liability or injury that may be sustained relating to or arising from participation in the competition and/ or Spring Architecture School and events pertaining to it.
No personal data shall be released, save that included in submissions and necessary for the competition format released to judges, coordinators, assessors, etc. All such information will be treated in strictest confidence. The participants in the Spring Architecture & Design School – and in the competition to attend the Spring Architecture & Design School – do authorize the release to use names, photographs, pictures, films, entries, made works, recorded interviews, documentary footage, etc for media use, except that prohibited by law.
The copyright of materials produced at, and allied to, the Spring Architecture & Design School shall be retained as the property of Spring Architecture & Design School and The Future Cities Project. As such, entrants should note that unless stated otherwise, The Spring Architecture & Design School and The Future Cities Project do not accept responsibility for the return of any Entries, including those consisting of artistic or other material.
The Future Cities Project reserves the right to cancel this competition or change details at its sole discretion at any time that it becomes aware of any circumstances or occurrence which would materially affect the Spring Architecture & Design School’s viability, security or fairness.
Prizes are non-transferable. The Future Cities Project reserves the right to change or substitute prizes in the event that any one prize is unavailable for any reason. No cash substitution will be allowed.
The decision of the judge(s) is final. There are no exact parameters by which to pick the winner(s), and therefore judges should exercise reasonable skill and fair judgment. In the event of dead-lock – or in any other circumstances that cause stalemate – The Spring Architecture & Design School and The Future Cities Project assert the right to make an executive decision to carry the vote. In the event of any dispute regarding the Rules, conduct, results and all other matters relating to a Competition, the decision of the Spring Architecture & Design School and The Future Cities Project personnel shall be final, and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.
Each entrant hereby grants the Spring Architecture & Design School and The Future Cities Project a non-exclusive, full, irrevocable licence to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, make derivative works or podcasts from, edit, alter, store, re-format, sell and sub-licence the entry and the events, involvement and creations at, and pertaining to the Spring Architecture & Design School for such purposes although does not guarantee to use any material.
You, the student entrants and prospective participants, hereby warrant that your entry and all information submitted, distributed or created pertaining to the Spring Architecture & Design School and its entry requirements, will not infringe the copyright, intellectual property, privacy or any other rights of any third party, and will not contain anything which is libellous, defamatory, obscene, indecent, harassing or threatening or any other reason.
All entrants are bound by the rules and are required to act in a professional manner as such the Spring Architecture & Design School and The Future Cities Project reserve the right to exclude entrants or attendees at any time and in its absolute discretion if the Spring Architecture & Design School and The Future Cities Project has reason to believe that person or persons has/have breached any of these rules.
The Spring Architecture & Design School and The Future Cities Project shall not be liable or responsible for any loss, theft or damage to the property of students, their created work and exhibits, or that of its representatives. The Spring Architecture & Design School and The Future Cities Project will not be liable for injury or damage to persons or property during the event, from any cause whatsoever, by reason of the use or occupancy of the rooms, exhibition spaces, offices, circulation, etc by participants, sponsors, exhibitors, visitors, its employees, other representatives or assigns. The venues – offices, accommodation, exhibitions spaces, etc – shall carry PI, public liability and other relevant insurance. Accidents, thefts, or other criminal assaults on the participants are outside the scope of these Conditions and shall be the liability of the participants themselves.
It is the student/entrant’s responsibility to have read these Conditions and agree to be bound by them.
NB: Throughout these Conditions, “The Future Cities Project” is deemed to refer to the main organiser as well as its core Spring Architecture & Design School personnel, assistants and representatives.
